PCR Tubes
PCR tubes are used in thermal cyclers (aka PCR machines), which are the key tool in the polymerase chain reaction method. As a high-use consumable in laboratories practicing PCR, cost-conscious labs can benefit greatly by opting for economical tubes that still meet scientific standards.
Choosing the appropriate PCR tube is largely determined by the thermal cycler in which they’ll operate. The capacity is the key determiner, with 0.2 mL and 0.6 mL being the most common PCR tube sizes. PCR tube type (either a PCR strip or individual tubes) and color (white/clear, blue, red, and more) are other key options.
