Distillation
Distillation glassware, often referred to as distillation apparatus, is a collection of glass chemistry equipment used together to transform a liquid via heat. The initial liquid is boiled and the rising vapors are trapped into a separate container (by way of a condenser). This leaves two liquids: the purified original liquid and the cooled condensate.
In short path distillation, a condenser isn't necessary: by operating at a highly reduced pressure, liquids can be boiled at lower temperature, eliminating the need to cool the separating vapors.
Distillation glassware systems can range from simple to highly complex. Growing Labs provides a broad array of affordable yet reliable components, such as columns, heads, flasks, and receivers, so that chemists and extractors can choose the distillation glassware that best suits their application.
